The Shokotsu River flows through the beautiful valleys of Takinoue.
It is home to many fish, including rainbow trout.
In Takinoue, sport fishing with a catch-and-release approach is popular,
and you can enjoy fly fishing in this serene environment.
The 2026 Ukishima Wetland Hiking Season Has Begun!
Following notification from the Town of Kamikawa that the access road has been reopened, I visited Ukishima Wetland on June 11 for a preliminary inspection.
The fallen trees that had been blocking the road have been removed, and the parking area at Ukishima Wetland is now accessible by car. The restroom at the parking area is also open for use. Many thanks to everyone involved for their prompt response and hard work.
Although the season has started a little later than usual, the wetland is now in full bloom and looking beautiful.
Poussin is now accepting reservations for guided hiking tours of Ukishima Wetland through October. We look forward to sharing this magnificent wetland with you once again this season.
