Ukishima Wetlands Guide
Guided Tour Period: June – Mid-October
Ukishima Wetlands is a high-altitude wetland located about a 40-minute drive from Takinoue Town toward Kamikawa. The walking trails are accessible from early June to mid-October, offering a chance to see alpine plants, wild birds, rare insects, and occasionally small animals like squirrels.
A well-maintained boardwalk allows visitors to explore the wetlands safely while enjoying the stunning natural scenery.

Kinseikyo Gorge Walking Tour
Guided Tour Period: April – November
The Kinseikyo Gorge, centered around the Shokotsu River flowing through Takigami Town, is surrounded by well-maintained walking trails. These trails provide a relaxing stroll while allowing visitors to appreciate the ever-changing beauty of the gorge through all four seasons.

Kinseikyo or Oshiranepu River Icefall Snow Adventure
Guided Tour Period: December – March
During winter, the Kinseikyo Gorge transforms into a breathtaking landscape of frozen waterfalls, as the many cascades along the Shokotsu River freeze over. Additionally, in the Oshiranepu River, a tributary of the Shokotsu River, you can witness stunning icefalls forming over the unique Oshiranepu River Formation from atop the frozen river itself.
Put on your snowshoes and trek across the snowy terrain to discover these magnificent icefalls and the winter wildlife that inhabit the area.
